#vacationmode, #bookhaul, and More Than One Cocktail Which I Did Not Make Myself
Greetings from the other side of the pond!
Things I have been doing for the last three weeks:
-Traveling all over the UK. North to Edinburgh, west to Gloucestershire, south to the New Forest. God, I love trains.
-Seeing all the friends and a lot of family. After nearly two years in which my main conversation partners were my husband and my cat, my sociable brain and heart are full to bursting with good conversation and joy at human proximity. (My introvert brain is chained up in the corner, blubbering and squirming like an overtired child, but we’re just going to ignore it.)
-Engaging in a lot of thoroughgoing hedonism. All the nice meals, all the great drinks, all the gorgeous well-stocked bookstores, all the doing pretty much whatever I want whenever I feel like it. Masked, of course, despite all the people in London WHO ARE NOT MASKED, EVEN ON THE TUBE, WTAF.
Things I have not been doing for the last three weeks:
-Reading much. (I have finished two books I started before my trip…and that’s it.)
-Making my own drinks.
-Writing this newsletter.
So…
Normal service will resume in December. For now, please enjoy this stream-of-consciousness list of some books I’ve bought and cocktails I’ve tasted this month.
