In October 2020, after writing one-and-a-half romance novels, I started to sketch out an idea for a romance between a chaotic chef and an orderly ghostwriter as they write the chef’s debut cookbook. He’d be skinny, ginger, and a little bit scruffy, while she’d be blond and curvy and painfully meticulous. They’d fight and flirt and fall in love over a year in San Francisco and Berkeley, eating and cooking and arguing about what a teaspoon is, really.
Three years and three months later…IT’S REAL!
Isn’t it beautiful? Absolutely GLOWING? What a dreamy sunset over Crissy Field! I will be toasting this cover tonight with something just as golden and fizzy as that light.
